Initially, he studied drawing and painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1972-1974) and since 1974 he continued at the Staatliche Hochschule fur bildende Kunste of Braunschweig where he specialized in engraving.
The title of Meisterschueler was granted to him in 1983. In 1987, he created his own studio of experimental film in Hanover and was honored repeatedly with European awards. He worked intensively on assemblages. In his work he uses a variety of materials.
